ALL BUS? NOT DIS CLASSIC VOLKSWAGON BUS!

12/20/2010 6:17 PM

At the Extreme Car Show last month. We saw some clean rides. One ride that really caught our eyes was this Classic 1965 VW Bus from the VW Club of Hawaii, we didn’t see the owner around to talk story with him nor get his name. But anyways this bus deserves a feature here at Helluva Rides.

There is something about VW buses that catches every ones attention, I think what get your attention is that huge signature VW emblem that sits right smack on the front on everyone one of these buses, or maybe it those front windshields that open up, or maybe it that box shape and simpleness of the body design as any child could have drew out and square box added a bunch of windows and some wheels.

We don’t know exactly what was done to this bus but we will try to point out what we noticed with our own eyes and we will let the photos once again do the talking.

Volkswagons signature looking good. The pinstripes is an fading art. Not to many
guys can do this now days.

They didn't have AC's back in 1965. You can't get any greener with the pop open front windshield for a nice cool Hawaiian style breeze.

VW Club of Hawaii. Got to give these guys credit for all there hard work in there rides and community.

Theinterior was immaculate. Is that pressure gauges and switches for air ride?

The younger generation of Scion and Honda's think they made up the fad of roof racks. Roof racks were popular back in the day.

From the rear you can see how straight the body lines were on this bus.

Even though this bus was made back in 1965. As you can see it also has has touch of the new era with some fiberglass molded speaker pods.

Even tough the engine looked stock. You have to take notice to how clean it was.

Everywhere you looked on this bus. everything looked like it just rolled of the showroom floor. Again notice the pin striping, it really adds to the paint.

In the photos above we noticed and questioned if those were air gauges and switches and the answer is yes, this bus is riding on air. Adding air suspension on one of these buses ain't no bolt up mod either.

Shouts out the the VW Club of Hawaii and the owner of this awesome Volkswagen bus.
