Hot Rods For a Cause for Konishki Kids 2011

7/17/2011 3:55 PM

It couldn't have been a more perfect day in Hawaii to hold a car show. Clear blue sunny sky and some major sunburn! More than 100 of Hawaii’s Hot Rods and a few imports and bikes came together on July 17 2011  for “HOT RODS for a Cause” benefiting Relief for Japan for the Konishki Kids foundation. The event was held at the Barbers Point at Kalaeloa Airport between Hangars 110 and 111.

This 56 Chevy Bel Air was our Helluva Ride of the day! This was the first time we saw this 56 and it was unreal! We just love black cars and this 56 there was no waves or flaws that we could see.

If you like classics, this show had its fare share. We at Helluva Rides have huge respect for these guys that own and build these type of cars. You can spend minutes just looking at these rides and there customization. Customization with these Classic/ Rods go well beyond just aftermarket bolt on parts like we see to much in the import scene. You can look at a classic/ rod an always see what sets the other car apart from the other. Each takes on its own personalty one way or another. You can see the amount of detail and time that went into the builds of these rides.

Well enough of the jibber jabber and let the pics do the talking!

Just Look at the chrome on this 55 it look better than when it rolled off the show room floor in 1956.

The kids thought the transformers were in the house!

Another ride you have to respect, Just take a look at the detail and customization.

This exhaust is what really caught our attention. and just look at the chrome on the engine.

Who care about Hella Flush! These were Hella Wide!

This ride what caught our eyes was the pearl white paint, simple pin striping and the painted wood grain! The wood grain was well executed!

A few imports also came to support and enjoy the sunny weather. Shouts out to Subi Life!

Now this was the green mango version 3? this truck you hardly can find these days and this we sick!

Rat Rod bikes are gaining grounds in Hawaii. You have to check out some of these bikes! Got to give the builders huge credit for the build and customization that went into these bikes.

Shouts out to our friends at 808 Camaros for always taking time to support the cause.

Now how could we not pass up taking a few shoots of this clean 57 Nomad. Talk about clean build! Some Bags and laying it to the floor is all that missing.

Corvette Center crowd favorite! This ride is just to trick! and talk about super clean build!
