This was the kids race!

Who said there was no race track in Hawaii. Hawaii raceway park is a thing of the past and Hawaii has been without a race track for about 3 years. Till this year the need for speed junkies had no place to let out there frustration for a lack of some kind of race track to express there need for speed.

Helluva Rides had the chance to go and see what all the buzz was about in Oahu’s Second City of Kapolie Hawaii.

Let us introduce to you Podium Raceway. Podium Raceway is an all indoor state of the art go cart track that is air conditioned. When we got to the location we were amazed to see the size of this place, its huge! There is more than enough parking there. When you get inside you can see this place was well thought out to accommodate everyone with a very friendly staff. They have arcade games and even private rooms to hold birthday parties and even a huge conference room with a pool table.

Many of us have traveled to the mainland and went to these type of go cart tracks but many have the normal gas powered go carts. Podium go carts are state of the art electric go carts in which makes these bad boys green environmentally friendly go carts! There are no harmful exhaust fumes and that is why they could make this track all air conditioned. These carts are so high tech that race officials can actually control the speed of each cart, this make it even more safe for everyone. If someone is stuck or in an accident they can actually disable the accelerator and stop every car until the track is cleared. Many might think that since its electric its going to be slow but let us tell you it feels like a gas cart without all the noise and exhaust fumes. The carts have the capability of getting up to speeds of 50 mph in which again is controlled by the race official. The acceleration on these carts are unreal. The handling is awesome and these cart can really huge the turns at high speeds. You just have to try it for yourself and experience it.

Podium Raceway is for the whole family and they didn't forget about the kids. WE have taken the children to tracks in the mainland and most of the track don't let the children go anywhere but in circles very slowly. With Podium the children actually have the chance to have the feel of driving a true race car on the same track that the adults drive on. They have smaller carts for any child that is at least 48in tall. With the cart being electric it can’t get any safer for the children to race because the officials can control the speed of each of the child's car to how the child can handle driving, If the child can handle the car and drive they speed up the car that the child is driving and let us tell you these kids can drive! They don't crank up the speed on the child's car as much as the adults but it goes pretty fast for the kids.
